Need To Know

Please take the following steps to ensure you have and rewarding experience with the contractors you choose.

Make sure you:

  • Always get a signed contract before you begin the job.

  • Do not sign any contract until you understand and agree
    to all terms.

  • Be sure payment schedule is clear and job specifications
    are written down in detail.

  • Document changes to original job (no matter how small)
    to the contract.

  • Put a deposit of total payment to cover materials.

  • Clearly state if permits should be pulled who will pull them.

  • Never pay cash without getting a receipt for all
    payment advances for additional materials.

  • Always hold back 10%-15% as final payment, to be made
when all work is completed and you are satisfied with the quality of the work.

When you work with us, we continue to provide support throughout the progress of the job until it's done to your satisfaction. We try to simplify your communication with our contractors.

We work with only quality contractors, so when you're ready to renovate or in need of repairs, call us for pre-qualified referrals ... At no cost to you.

Be realistic, not just optimistic.

Know that estimates usually take a few days to prepare, and then scheduling (non-emergency) work can take a few days after that. Allow some extra time if changes are made to an original project request so that the contractor can reassess the project or purchase additional materials.

Be organized. It will speed up your project...for example, know where you will eat if your kitchen will be out of commission for three weeks. Or can you move the microwave into the laundry room and make due?

Have some idea of what the project you're looking at entails. And what you will need to budget for it, so that you don't waste your time or the contractor's.. Don't have unreasonable expectations; one client expected to have a patio installed for the price of a landscaping job! Both she and the contractors who bid on the job were disappointed.
